It would be hard to argue with the success of the DDR craze as the same basic gameplay has been duplicated over and over with continued success. Songs have changed and new modes have been added, and for those who have been fans for years, that's probably plenty.

Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2 should be familiar to anyone who has entered an arcade, but if you haven't the gameplay structure is to follow the arrows on the screen with the coordinating arrows on the dance mat. It may go without saying but a dance mat if critical to get anything out of the game. In addition to the dance mat, the EyeToy can also be used to get your hands involved as well, although it's not as necessary as the dance mat. It also highlights the possibility that you look like an idiot doing this, but maybe that's just me.

There are a number of different modes including workout, Free Play, Lesson, and training. All are similar to modes in previous DDR games with the exception of the online modes. Now it's possible to see how you stack up against any number of opponents and generate some real bragging rights. It's a nice addition and does offer another option when there's no one else around.
Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2 obviously isn't going to appeal to everyone, but it definitely has its fans. If your old DDR game needs a song update along with some new features, give it a shot.
